Born in Allahbad, India, 1933. Did Masters in English Literature in 1954 from University of Karachi, Pakistan. Served as Professor of English literature in Pakistani colleges for about 30 years. Retired from Urdu Science College, Karachi, as the Head of English Department, 1986. Was associated with the Department of English, Karachi University, 1993-96.
Apart from political pamphlets, articles in newspapers on political literature including 'The mass uprising in World Marxist Review in 1970, wrote a booklet on ideological struggles in Communist Party of Pakistan in 1985 and 'Inside Pakistan' published by Patriot Publishers, New Delhi in 1986. Quit Leftist politics in 1990. At present working as Chairman, Forum for Democracy in Pakistan, since 1999.
He has re-interpreted Indian political history starting with British rule in India and surveying the emergence of many states, their development and also their coming closer through forums as SAARC and their prospects for the future.
